CE Marking

The CE mark is a common place sight on today’s consumer electronics as well as a host of other products we all use every day. The Construction Products Regulation now brings mandatory CE marking to glazing products as from 1st July 2013.

THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR COMPLIANCE

The Construction Products Regulation covers all types of construction products. The requirements for information to be shown in a CE Mark are taken from the harmonized product standard BS EN 14351-1:2006 +A1:2010. Most of the information that can be displayed is optional. The required declared data is limited to:

  • Thermal performance (expressed as a U-Value)
  • Dangerous substances (available from system company and will generally be none)
  • Load bearing capacity of safety devices (available from the restriction/safety device manufacturer)
